Balustrades and BalconiesThe coastline and river estuaries of West Cornwall is dramatic and beautiful landscape, but is exposed and does experience a high average wind speed. To take full advantage of a good view, or to provide a little more shelter from the wind and create a favoured sun-trap, a balustrade is the ideal solution. Or to develop a view, or improve on any existing one, a balcony allows elevated external floor space from any existing opening, be it a doorway or window opening which can be made into a doorway with minimal additional work. If needs be, with our masonry expertise, we can create new openings onto a view for you to sit out, relax and enjoy.
We are able to supply a wide range of bespoke balconies and balustrades to suit your exact requirements and budget. We can work in softwood, hardwood, powder coated aluminium, powder coated and galvanised mild steel or stainless steel, all with toughened safety glass where that is required.
We are particularly pleased to be able to offer the Juralco range of balustrades. These have been developed in and sourced from New Zealand and offer either a fully framed system (with a top rail, bottom rail and posts both sides of the toughened glass), a semi-frameless (with no top or bottom rial, only posts on both sides of the glass. Finally, there is the spectacular frameless system, which has no top rail or posts, but is mounted on the floor (or on the face of a building or balcony) with only toughened safety glass to form the balustrade. Where the mounting is fixed below floor level, there are no visible fixings, rails or posts to spoil the show. Just a piece of glass…absolutely nothing to see except your view.
The Juralco system has had stringent third party testing in New Zealand and is fully compliant with the requirements of the UK Building Regulations.
(Please note, that this particular image is one of the very few on this site that is not one of our own installations.)
Our balconies and balustrades are available as a stand-alone project, or in conjunction with any replacement door or replacement window, or even a conservatory project that you may have in mind. Just ask!
