Conservatories - What We Do

1. Design. We have conservatory designers who have many years of experience in providing customers with the realisation of their dream. Their role is to provide the customer with a graphical image of their aspirations. Our experts will assess the possibilities and, taking into account the customer’s desire and design brief, provide innovative and creative designs which overcome the difficulties, enhance the building and achieve our customer’s dreams.
2. Local authority approvals. Our in-house graduate surveyor can conduct a measuring survey and prepare all necessary computer aided design (CAD) drawings for your project. He can apply on your behalf for all the appropriate local authority consents for building a porch, conservatory or balustrade. Not all conservatories require planning permission, but some do. The rules are clear and have recently been simplified [link to planning permission guidelines]. Most conservatories do not require Building Regulations approval but, again, some do [link to Building Regulations guidance]. Whether or not you require Building Regulations approval we believe it is sensible and appropriate to build to the compliance standard whenever it is practicable to do so. We always insulate ground supported floor slabs (under the concrete slab) and block and beam floors (under the screed). We also insulate all our perimeter walls to the current standard. If your porch or conservatory incorporate solid roof construction this, too, is in accordance with Building Regulations requirements.
   Should your project require major structural elements we have an experienced structural engineer who can design the necessary components and provide the structural calculations for local authority approval.
3. Production. We produce our own doors and windows that make up your porch or conservatory. You can call in to see your frames being made, in uPVC or timber, at our premises, and meet the NVQ qualified and skilled local craftsmen who take a great deal of care and pride in all that they do. You can see for yourself the quality of the workmanship, full reinforcing, stainless steel fixings and components, hinges and locks which together make up a high quality product of which we are justifiably proud.
   A further stage in production, when required, is spray painting. In our modern dust-extracted and heated oven, painted products are carefully prepared and then spray painted by an expert panel sprayer.The similarities of the paint system we use mean that years of skill and experience spraying car bodies and trims in gloss paint to a very high standard are all focussed in painting your door, window, porch or conservatory. The outcome is second to none.
4. Installation. Our team of highly skilled, very experienced and NVQ qualified fitters, some of whom have been with us for 15 years, will install or erect your doors, windows, porch or conservatory with care and great attention to detail. Our masonry tradesmen are equally skilled and experienced. In larger or more complex contracts there is technical oversight by an experienced team including a qualified building surveyor, formerly a local authority senior building control officer. When required a full project management service is provided. They all aim to combine their knowledge and abilities to work seamlessly and provide you with a finished article that will be your delight, and a lasting pleasure.
5. After-Care. We would love to say that over a 10 year period sealed units do not break down, or that lock gears do not seize up, but that would be dishonest. What we can say is that we respond to such occurrences quickly and effectively, normally free of charge, for the full duration of the guarantee. In order to keep your investment in tip-top order we have a dedicated Service Engineer who job it is to ensure that our 10 year guarantee is worth the paper it is written on.
