Lean To Conservatories

Call us today! 01209 215759
A lean to roof is a single pitch roof which will normally adjoin a flat surface. The pitch can vary enormously and is most often determined by the wall height available. The lean to can be designed in a wide range of sizes to suit most properties.

Many original Victorian conservatories and plant houses, were ‘lean tos’ and were often quite decorative and attractive.
In the mid to late 20th Century near flat roofed versions, usually with a plastic roof sheeting material became widely available and popular , causing something of a decline in their reputation.

Today however, with the development of better materials and design over the last few decades, the lean to has rapidly become as popular as it first was. The lean to is an inexpensive way to gain additional living space. You can choose from a variety of materials and finishes to suit your project.

Why not consider incorporating a storm porch as our customers in Hayle chose to.

Hardwood
Lean To Conservatories

We manufacture top quality timber conservatories in our joinery in Cornwall.

Working principally in kiln dried mahogany hardwood from West Africa (with other timbers available to order) we manufacture from renewable and sustainable timber which is FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) certified.

After machining and once assembled the frames receive one base coat and two top coats of a microporous stain or paint.
All the fixings, hinges, locks and furniture are of stainless steel or non-ferrous metals and meet the same high standard used in our uPVC products.

Our vertical frames are made to receive standard 28mm double glazed sealed units. All units are manufactured to conform with British Standards and, where toughened glass is required, that also carries the BS ‘kitemark’.

Painted UPVC Lean To  Conservatories

We use a thermally efficient top quality British uPVC profile to construct our conservatories, guaranteeing strength and colour stability.

We fully reinforce all of our frames with aluminium, which will never rust, unlike galvanised steel. This is of particular importance due to our coastal climate here in Cornwall.

We can apply an extensive range of colours to uPVC products during the final manufacturing process of your conservatory. We can match virtually any colour for you.

How the paint is applied

Before the paint is applied, all surfaces undergo two stages of preparation. Firstly, the surface is keyed using scotch pads that remove the glossy sheen and give the paint even greater adherence.

Secondly, it is cleaned with a preparation treatment, developed by the paint manufacturers specifically for the purpose, ensuring all surfaces are degreased and clean. If only parts of the items are to be sprayed they will be masked off. For example, you may choose to have a conservatory that is the colour of your choice outside and white inside. The products are now ready to be sprayed in our own spray booth on site at our factory showroom in Cornwall.

Our specially developed high quality paint chemically bonds itself to the uPVC, giving high resistance to scratching, fading and weathering.

After the products have been sprayed they are ‘oven baked’ and left to cure, before receiving a final coat of protective lacquer.
The painted finish is guaranteed for 10 years.

UPVC Lean To Conservatories

White uPVC is a popular choice for conservatories, as the most economical in cost and its low maintenance qualities

To give the look of timber, the uPVC is available in a range of ‘natural’ wood grain or artisan coloured foil. Alternatively the wood grain foil can be painted to a RAL colour of your choice.
